Job Title: Maintenance Technician 25 - 30/hr

Job Description

Join a team dedicated to manufacturing Tectum ceiling panels at a unique facility in Newark, Ohio. As the only manufacturer of these panels, which are commonly found in schools, gyms, offices, and military bases, this growing operation is seeking maintenance technicians for the 2nd shift. This is a direct placement position within a union facility, offering full benefits upon union membership.

Responsibilities

• Perform reactive maintenance on various types of equipment, including conveyor systems, painting equipment, gas-fired dryers, cutting equipment, process piping, dust collection systems, and pumps.
• Tear down complex units, assess the extent of malfunctions, repair or replace defective parts, and reassemble the equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Conduct troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Install, troubleshoot, and diagnose a wide range of mechanical drive systems.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to understand technical drawings.
• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with mechanical drive systems, including gearboxes, sheaves, pulleys, belts, bearings, sprockets, and chains.
• Experience with pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Welding and fabrication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with boilers and presses.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• PLC troubleshooting experience, particularly with Allen Bradley systems.
• Experience with the installation and diagnostics of VFDs.

Work Environment

Work the 2nd shift from 3 PM to 11 PM in a non-climate-controlled facility, which will be hot in summer and cool in winter. Engage in a hands-on role within a dynamic manufacturing process that involves materials that are wet and messy during processing. The facility uses advanced equipment, including conveyors, presses, and dryers, to produce high-quality ceiling panels.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
